Global Tint comes to your Cambridge address to tint your car, so you can arrange fitting at home or at work. You can tint the rear side glass and rear windscreen in any of our shades: darkest Onyx 5%, Luna 20%, Twilight 35%, Fifty 50% or the lightest, 70%. The percentage tells you how much light gets through the film, and your installer will advise on legal shades for the front glass. Car film blocks up to 99% of UV. What happens when the installer arrives?
They look over the car, go through the shades and which are legal on each window, then fit the film from inside the car. Most cars take 1.5 to 2.5 hours, and you get a warranty card, a microfibre cloth, a keyring and care instructions at the end.
Does the weather matter?
Rarely. The film goes on the inside of the glass, so rain doesn’t stop the job, and the van carries its own power and everything the installer needs.
What if something goes wrong later?
Car tint comes with a lifetime warranty for as long as you own the car. If it peels, bubbles or fades, the installer comes back to your home or workplace and fixes it.

A clean handover

A warranty card, a microfibre cleaning cloth, a keyring and care instructions. Small water bubbles or a slight haze are normal while the film dries, and they clear on their own.

Can you come to me if I live outside Cambridge?
Yes, we cover the area outside Cambridge for mobile car tinting as well. Newnham and Cambourne are also among the places we cover. Tell us where the car will be for fitting when you arrange the appointment.
Is there a Global Tint workshop in Cambridge?
No, we come to you for fitting; we don't have a Global Tint workshop in Cambridge. You can have the car tinted on your driveway or in your workplace car park, so choose the address that suits you when booking.
Who'll tint my car?
Ollie Malster, the Global Tint franchise owner, fits car tint in Cambridge. He also visits Fen Ditton, Fulbourn and Harston & Comberton. Get a price for your vehicle first, then select a time for him to come and fit the tint.
What limits apply to the front windows?
The glass and tint together must let through at least 75% of light at the windscreen and 70% at the front side windows on vehicles first used from 1 April 1985. Earlier vehicles need at least 70% through both. The film's percentage on its own can't tell you whether the finished glass will be legal.
Can I get window film for a building too?
Yes, Global Tint also fits window film in homes and offices here. Our Cambridge home and office window film page covers that service, with films to reduce heat and glare, provide privacy, limit UV fading or strengthen glass.
