At your Wakefield fitting, the installer advises on legal shades for your car's side glass and rear windscreen. The five choices are Onyx 5%, the darkest, Luna 20%, Twilight 35%, Fifty 50% and the lightest, 70%; the percentages tell you how much light gets through. Once the film is fitted, it gives your car more privacy, reduces heat and glare, and blocks up to 99% of UV. What happens when the installer arrives?
They look over the car, go through the shades and which are legal on each window, then fit the film from inside the car. Most cars take 1.5 to 2.5 hours, and you get a warranty card, a microfibre cloth, a keyring and care instructions at the end.
Does the weather matter?
Rarely. The film goes on the inside of the glass, so rain doesn’t stop the job, and the van carries its own power and everything the installer needs.
What if something goes wrong later?
Car tint comes with a lifetime warranty for as long as you own the car. If it peels, bubbles or fades, the installer comes back to your home or workplace and fixes it.

How much light must the front windows let through?
For vehicles first used from 1 April 1985, the windscreen must let through at least 75% of light and front side windows at least 70%. Older vehicles need 70% through both. The glass and film count together for these limits; you can choose any shade for the rear side glass and back windscreen.
What comes with my fitted tint?
The lifetime warranty on your car tint lasts for as long as you own the vehicle. You'll get a warranty card, microfibre cloth, keyring and care instructions. If it fades, peels or bubbles, the installer will come back to your home or workplace and fix it. Small water bubbles or haze just after fitting are normal and clear as the film cures.
