The limits depend on when your car was first used: from 1 April 1985 onwards, the windscreen must let at least 75% of light through and the front side windows need at least 70%. Before that date, both need at least 70%. The measurement is for glass and film combined, which is why choosing a tint percentage alone doesn't tell you whether a front window is legal.
What happens if my tint peels or fades?
The installer comes back to your home or workplace to fix peeling, fading or bubbling under the lifetime warranty, for as long as you own the car. You'll receive the warranty card and care instructions after fitting, along with a microfibre cloth and keyring. Small water bubbles or a little haze just after installation are normal while the film dries and clear as the film cures.
