The installer fits film to the rear side windows and rear windscreen, which can take any shade, and advises you on legal shades for the car's front glass. Onyx lets 5% of light pass through, Luna 20%, Twilight 35%, Fifty 50%, and the lightest film 70%: lower numbers mean darker film.

What happens when I bring the car in?
The installer looks over the car, goes through the shades and which are legal on each window, then fits the film from inside the car. Most cars take 1.5 to 2.5 hours, and you get a warranty card, a microfibre cloth, a keyring and care instructions at the end.

What limits apply to front glass?
For cars first used on or after 1 April 1985, the windscreen needs to pass at least 75% of light and front side glass at least 70%. Earlier vehicles need at least 70% through both. Those measurements include existing glass and added film together, so the film’s percentage alone doesn’t tell you whether it’s legal.
What does the car tint warranty cover?
Peeling, bubbling and fading are covered for as long as you own the car. If that happens, an installer comes back to your home or workplace to fix the tint. You’ll get your warranty card when the fitting is finished.
