We tint rear side windows and the rear windscreen for cars in Ayr, and the installer will advise on legal shades for front windows. They look over the car, go through the shades and which are legal on each window, then fit the film from inside the car. Most cars take 1.5 to 2.5 hours, and you get a warranty card, a microfibre cloth, a keyring and care instructions at the end.
Does the weather matter?
Rarely. The film goes on the inside of the glass, so rain doesn’t stop the job, and the van carries its own power and everything the installer needs.
What if something goes wrong later?
Car tint comes with a lifetime warranty for as long as you own the car. If it peels, bubbles or fades, the installer comes back to your home or workplace and fixes it.

Can I use a dark shade on the front glass?
Only if the glass and film together still let through the legally required amount of light. For cars in Ayr first used on or after 1 April 1985, that means at least 75% through the windscreen and at least 70% through the front side windows. For older cars, both need at least 70%; the rear windows can use any shade.
