What are the legal limits for front window tint?
For a vehicle first used on or after 1 April 1985, the front side windows must let at least 70% of light through and the windscreen at least 75%. Older vehicles need at least 70% through both. Those limits count the glass and film together, and the rear side windows and rear windscreen can have any shade.
