Those numbers tell you how much light passes through; rear side windows and the rear windscreen can take any shade, while your installer advises on legal front-window choices. Tint adds privacy and keeps up to 99% of UV out, while also reducing the heat and glare coming through the glass. What happens when the installer arrives?
They look over the car, go through the shades and which are legal on each window, then fit the film from inside the car. Most cars take 1.5 to 2.5 hours, and you get a warranty card, a microfibre cloth, a keyring and care instructions at the end.

For vehicles first used on or after 1 April 1985, the windscreen must let through at least 75% of light and front side windows at least 70%. For older vehicles, it's at least 70% through each. That’s the amount of light that must pass through the glass and film together.
What do I receive once the tint is fitted?
You'll receive a warranty card, care instructions, a microfibre cloth and a keyring after your Southport fitting. A little haze or small water bubbles can appear while the film cures, then clear as it dries. Your warranty lasts for as long as you own the car. If the tint peels, bubbles or fades, the installer returns to your home or workplace to fix it.
